PujaFirst legal
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the PujaFirst iPhone app, website, tester services, subscriptions, and related support. Please read them before using PujaFirst.
Effective date: 14 July 2026
1. Agreement and who provides PujaFirst
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and PujaFirst (“PujaFirst”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a sole trader established in England, United Kingdom. They apply to the PujaFirst iOS application, pujafirst.app, TestFlight builds, subscription features, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By downloading, accessing, registering for, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If a separate written testing agreement applies to you, it supplements these Terms and prevails only to the extent of a direct conflict.
2. Legal capacity and platform rules
You may use the Service only if you have legal capacity to enter this agreement and you comply with the rules that apply to your Apple Account, App Store, TestFlight, device, authentication provider, and local law. We do not set a separate numeric minimum age. If applicable law or platform rules require a parent or guardian, that person must review and accept these Terms and supervise use.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by the United States Government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on a United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
3. Accounts and security
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in method and device secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account to the extent permitted by law. You may not create an account for another person without authority or attempt to bypass authentication, entitlements, or device restrictions.
Sign in may be provided by Apple, Google, or another identified provider. Their terms also apply. We never need your provider password; do not send it to us.
4. Licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the iOS application on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Usage Rules. The application may also be accessed by other accounts associated with the purchaser where Family Sharing or volume-purchase rules permit.
The licence is for personal, non-commercial devotional and wellbeing use. No ownership rights transfer to you. Except where law does not allow the restriction, you may not copy, sell, rent, distribute, publicly perform, scrape, reverse engineer, defeat security, extract a database, create a competing service from, or exploit the Service or its content.
5. What the Service does
PujaFirst is designed to support daily Puja. If you authorise Apple Screen Time features, it can apply restrictions to apps, categories, or domains you choose until you complete a short prayer flow or use an available emergency-access route. The Service also may provide a devotional library, prayer preferences, reminders, favourites, completion history, progress views, and subscription features.
You control which apps or categories are selected and whether Prayer Lock is enabled. Review selections carefully. Screen Time behaviour depends on Apple frameworks, device settings, operating-system permissions, schedules, extensions, network state, and processes outside our control.
6. Prayer Lock and Screen Time limitations
- PujaFirst is not a parental-control, security, emergency, employment-monitoring, or safety-critical product.
- Restrictions may apply late, clear early, fail to apply, or behave differently after a system update, permission change, reboot, reinstall, time-zone change, extension failure, or Apple service change.
- Some system apps, settings, calls, notifications, websites, or routes may remain available, and Apple may limit what can be restricted.
- You remain responsible for device access, communications, work, travel, care obligations, authentication tools, tickets, payments, medical services, and any other time-sensitive need.
- Do not select an app or domain if delayed access could put a person, property, legal obligation, livelihood, or essential service at risk.
We do not promise that Screen Time restrictions will be uninterrupted, impossible to bypass, or available on every device or iOS version.
7. Emergency access
The app is designed to keep an emergency-access option visible where Prayer Lock applies. At the effective date, that route is intended to provide temporary access without recording a completed Puja or increasing a streak. Availability and duration may depend on the current app version and system state.
Emergency access is a convenience, not a guaranteed safety system. Never rely on PujaFirst as the only way to reach emergency services, essential communications, medical information, transport, work systems, financial tools, or safety resources. If there is immediate danger, use available system features or contact the appropriate emergency service directly.
8. Religious and wellbeing information
PujaFirst is a devotional support tool. It does not replace a guru, priest, acharya, religious community, scripture study, or your own judgment. Hindu traditions are diverse; wording, translations, pronunciation aids, sequencing, devotional focus, and source interpretation may differ among sampradayas, families, regions, languages, and teachers.
Content is educational and devotional, not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice. The Service does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Progress displays and streaks are records of app activity, not measures of devotion, moral worth, spiritual attainment, or health.
9. Devotional and sourced content
The Service includes original material, licensed material, public-domain works, traditional texts, translations, transliterations, metadata, citations, and links to related reading. We aim to identify sources and rights accurately, but source records can contain errors or later require correction. A source label does not imply endorsement by an author, translator, publisher, lineage, or linked website.
Public-domain status may differ by country. You may use public-domain source material according to applicable law, but PujaFirst’s selection, arrangement, annotations, design, software, and original copy remain protected. If you believe content infringes rights or is materially misattributed, email us with enough information to investigate.
10. Subscriptions, trials, and purchases
Paid features may be offered through an automatically renewing App Store subscription. The product page and Apple purchase sheet show the current price, billing period, trial (if any), and terms before purchase. Prices may vary by country, currency, tax, or Apple policy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple’s then-current rules.
- Your Apple Account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app or your PujaFirst account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription.
- If a trial is offered, unused trial time may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, as the purchase screen explains.
Apple processes purchases, cancellations, billing, and refunds. Refund eligibility is governed by Apple’s policies and mandatory consumer law. Request an App Store refund through Apple. Nothing in these Terms limits a statutory right to a refund, repeat performance, price reduction, cancellation, or other remedy.
11. Tester access
If you use a TestFlight or other pre-release build, features may be incomplete, change, contain faults, or stop working. Tester access is personal, revocable, and subject to Apple’s TestFlight terms. You must not sell invitations, share private access links, misrepresent yourself as our employee, or disclose confidential material expressly identified as confidential. You may send candid feedback, and you understand we may use it without payment to improve the Service, without taking ownership of your pre-existing intellectual property.
12. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm, harass, exploit, or deceive another person;
- interfere with the Service, probe non-public systems, introduce malicious code, overload infrastructure, or bypass reasonable rate, bot, access, or entitlement controls;
- use another person’s account or personal information without permission;
- submit unlawful, infringing, hateful, abusive, deceptive, or privacy-invasive content;
- automate registrations or extract content at scale without our written permission; or
- use the Service in a way that violates Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, network-provider, or other applicable third-party terms.
13. Your feedback and submissions
You keep ownership of feedback, notes, or other content you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt, and use that material only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service. You confirm that you have the right to submit it. Do not send confidential third-party material or unnecessary sensitive information.
14. Intellectual property
Except for third-party and public-domain material, PujaFirst and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including software, artwork, illustrations, interface design, databases, branding, copy, and original devotional materials. “PujaFirst” and associated branding may not be used to imply endorsement or affiliation without permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
15. Third-party services and links
The Service depends on or links to third parties including Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, Vercel, TestFlight, and source websites. Their services may change or fail, and their own terms and privacy notices apply. We are not responsible for independent third-party content or conduct, but this does not exclude responsibility that law places on us.
16. Updates, availability, and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the Service, address risk, comply with law or platform policy, or respond to provider changes. Updates may be required for continued use. We aim to give reasonable notice of a material change where practicable, but urgent security or legal changes may take effect sooner.
We do not guarantee continuous or error-free availability, preservation of every local record, compatibility with every Apple product, or that a particular prayer or feature will always remain. Keep any information you cannot afford to lose outside the Service.
17. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion. Remember to cancel an App Store subscription separately. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for material breach, fraud, abuse, security, legal compliance, provider requirements, or protection of users and the Service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy.
On termination, the licence ends. Provisions that by nature should survive—including ownership, accrued payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and Apple beneficiary terms—continue. Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
18. Warranties and statutory rights
We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Subject to that obligation and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, the Service is provided “as available”. We do not promise that it will meet every devotional expectation, prevent distraction, create a habit, preserve a streak, or work with every device configuration.
Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory guarantees or remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other mandatory consumer law. Any disclaimer applies only to the maximum extent the law permits.
19. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; breach of rights that cannot lawfully be limited; or any other liability that law does not allow us to exclude.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, business loss arising from personal use, or loss caused by your device choices, failure of an independent third party, or an event outside reasonable control, except where the law says otherwise.
If you use the Service for business purposes despite the personal-use licence, then to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, or indirect or consequential loss. We do not limit liability beyond what applicable law permits.
20. Apple-required terms
You and PujaFirst acknowledge that these Terms are between you and PujaFirst, not Apple. PujaFirst—not Apple—is solely responsible for the iOS application and its content. The licence does not conflict with the Apple Media Services Usage Rules.
PujaFirst is solely responsible for maintenance and support required by these Terms or law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the application fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the application. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are PujaFirst’s responsibility.
PujaFirst, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the application or your possession or use of it, including product-liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection, privacy, or similar claims. PujaFirst, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging a third-party intellectual-property infringement claim relating to the application.
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the application. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce the Apple-related provisions against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain mandatory protections of the country where you habitually live. Courts in England and Wales have jurisdiction, but a consumer living in another part of the United Kingdom may also bring proceedings in their local courts, and a consumer elsewhere may have mandatory local rights.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a statutory complaint or dispute process.
22. General
If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a legitimate business reorganisation or transfer, provided your rights are not reduced. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any purchase terms shown by Apple form the entire agreement about the Service.
We may update these Terms for legal, security, provider, or product reasons. We will publish the revised Terms and update the effective date, and give additional notice where a change materially affects your rights. Continued use after a validly notified change means the revised Terms apply; where law requires consent, we will ask for it.
